Name a topic and Matthew has probably written about it: health, fitness, nutrition, mind/body, alternative medicine, yoga, travel, and business. He is a regular contributor to national publications, such Natural Health, Men's Health, Natural Solutions, Men’s Fitness, Vegetarian Times, and Body + Soul, to name but a few. He currently serves as a Contributing Editor for Fit Yoga where he writes their “Athletic Yogi" column and regular features on herbs and complementary therapies. He produced the entire editorial content for the launch of Bob Greene's The Best Life Diet (thebestlife.com) and has penned multiple how-to guides for small businesses at Work.com. Matthew began his career at Golfweek magazine and has held editor positions at Cooking Light and Weight Watchers Magazine, where he wrote regularly about food, nutrition, fitness, travel, and well-being. He also served as Senior Editor at Yoga Journal, the nation’s largest yoga publication, and Experience Life, a national health and lifestyle magazine. During his tenure at Yoga Journal he was part of a team twice recognized by Folio Magazine for Editorial Excellence as Best Health and Fitness Magazine. (View his resume here.) Matthew earned his M.F.A. in Writing from the University of San Francisco and a Bachelor of Science in Magazine Journalism from the University of Florida. He's a member of the American Society of Journalists and Authors and the National Writer's Union. When he's not writing journalism on his Mac, or fiction on his 1930s Underwood Universal typewriter, or scribbling life's observations in his Moleskine notebook with his favorite fountain pen, Matthew teaches Composition and Basic Writing at St Petersburg College (spcollege.edu) and Magazine Writing with the University of South Florida's Continuing Education Program.
